America's Boy Scouts to accept open homosexuals
, June 8, 2013
One way to kill a person is to aim a gun at his head and pull the trigger. Another way is to sneakily administer slow-working poison, the results of which will be exactly the same. This is true of organisations as well. You can use direct external action to kill off an organisation, or you can work to destroy it from within.
That is exactly what has happened with the Boy Scouts of America. On May 23, 60 per cent of the 1,400 delegates at the BSA’s annual convention in Dallas, Texas, voted to allow openly homosexual Scouts. It did, however, keep a ban on homosexual Scout leaders (Bethany Monk report in Focus on the Family’s CitizenLink, May 24, 2013).
Of course, they are living in dreamland as to the latter decision. In no time we will have activist judges informing them that it is discriminatory to ban homosexual leaders in the Scouts, and they must immediately admit them. Mark my words, this will be happening very soon.
The paedophiles of course are licking their lips and are on cloud nine about all this. Groups such as the North American Man Boy Love Association (NAMBLA) have just been handed all their wildest dreams on a silver platter. This marks not only the death of the Boy Scouts, but the death of boyhood.
But even if this second move never eventuates — and I guarantee that it will — the first move was bad enough. What sort of complete idiocy prevails with this board? How can they be so willing to sabotage their own organisation? What diabolical processes are at work in the BSA?
The reason we have sex-separated organisations such as the Scouts (or so many others, such as the YMCA and YWCA, where boys are kept separate from girls) is obvious: it makes no sense to combine the sexes at close quarters. It is moral suicide to allow boys and girls to share locker-rooms or shower together.
So the two sexes have rightly been kept apart. Hormonally-driven young people especially need such protections. But now we have boys who have sexual attractions for other boys being welcomed into the Scouts.
What complete and utter moonbattery.
This is in fact the ideal way to bring to a screeching halt a once great organisation. As one commentator, Ray Parker of Llano, Texas, has reminded us: “In 1998, Canadian Scouts (CS) decided to allow females, atheists, agnostics, homosexuals, bisexuals and transsexuals to join the CS. In 1999, they approved the establishment of an all-homosexual troop, which now marches in Canada’s gay pride parades.
“Within five years, scouting membership dropped over half. Many scouting camps and offices were closed, and staff were laid off. A cherished institution for leading boys into self-reliant, capable, morally upright manhood was all but destroyed, and continues to decline.” (Ray Parker letter to The Star, Kansas City, Missouri, February 18, 2013).
Quite right. Plenty of other commentators have weighed into this. One American commentator, Lori Boxer (who is not a Christian), hit the nail on the head.
She wrote: “I’m sick and tired of the gay rights movement trying to force their values on the American people and organisations, and of the continued progressive march ‘forward’ to tear down anything that smacks of traditional morals and demonise those who disagree with their lifestyle.
“I’m sick and tired of how the LGBT community demands that they be accepted by millions of Americans who don’t agree with them, and who in large numbers are repulsed by them. They’re never, EVER going to change or regulate the acceptance of their lifestyle by those who vehemently oppose it and who have the right to raise THEIR children with THEIR morals and values and religious beliefs, and NOT have anyone else’s fostered upon THEIR kids.
“Refusing to push homosexuality into our children’s lives isn’t discrimination. Telling someone with whom I don’t agree NOT to push an agenda on MY kids, is not discrimination. People need to get a dictionary and look up the definition of that word. The REAL people being discriminated against are Christians (and I am not Christian) who only want to remain true to their faith without celebrating something with which they do not agree.”
She concludes, “Hey, I have a great idea: Since there’s no law that bans homosexuals from starting their OWN nationwide scouting organisation, let them unite, fund and form one. Lord knows there’s enough liberal elitist money in Hollywood and the arts to do so.
“Families would then have a choice as to which organisation they want their child to be in, and THEN let’s see which one thrives. And, hey … they can call the organisation the ‘Gay Rainbow Scouts’, coordinate with NAMBLA for man-boy-love camp-fire jamborees and pass out progressive sodomy badges” (Lori Wallach Boxer, “Scouting for boys”, Facebook, May 23, 2013).
Or, as Brian Brown, president of the US’s National Organization for Marriage, says: “They have succumbed to political pressure and abandoned their historic roots in what will prove to be a failed attempt to appease gay activists and corporate donors. Unfortunately, what they have done is said to the world that their oath no longer means much. Their decision to admit openly gay scouts will end up sexualising the organisation. I am certain that having changed their policy on homosexuality, it’s only a matter of time before courts order them to admit homosexual scout leaders.
“Countless thousands of churches will very likely pull their sponsorship rather than endorse homosexuality, and the entire organisation will begin to collapse. All of this is happening, not because of a true grassroots demand of gay youth to be part of the organisation, but by an orchestrated political effort by gay activists who want to punish any group or organisation that does not embrace homosexuality.
“It’s the beginning of the end for what once was one of America’s noblest organisations.” (Quoted in LifeSiteNews.com, May 24, 2013).
And Peter LaBarbera points out what is at stake here: “Let’s cut through all the pro-‘gay’ noise that infests most discussions of this issue. Practising homosexuality is a destructive lifestyle choice and a sin. It is immoral, against Nature, and changeable — as evidenced by the countless men (like Michael Glatze) and women (like Charlene Cothran) who once proudly considered themselves ‘gay’ but now live in accordance with God’s natural design for their bodies.
“Homosexuality is not the basis for healthy self-identity. ‘Sexual orientation’ is an artificial construct because homosexuality is not ‘who you are’, it’s what you do. And when people make sinful choices, bad things happen. (I should add that most homosexuals come from troubled backgrounds, including: dysfunctional parent-child relationships; lack of a father; divorced households; early sexualisation; and sexual predator abuse. But these ‘causes’ — while meriting our pity and understanding — do not condone the behavioural choice of embracing a homosexual lifestyle.)
“Homosexuality is about as natural, normal and healthy as a tongue earring. Actually, it’s much riskier: in fact, if this were any other behaviour, there would be a full-scale government/corporate mobilisation against it (like smoking).
“Consider these alarming statistics on male homosexuality and HIV from a December 2012 report by the federal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC): ‘CDC estimates that MSM [males who have sex with males] represent approximately 4 per cent of the male population in the United States, but male-to-male sex accounted for more than three-quarters (78 per cent) of new HIV infections among men and nearly two-thirds (63 per cent) of all new infections in 2010 (29,800).’
“No honourable organisation would confirm boys and young men in an immoral sexual ‘identity’ associated with such disproportionate, massive health risks. Shame on the Boy Scouts….” (Christian Newswire, May 24, 2013).
The losers here are the BSA, boys, morality, sanity, America, and Scouting’s founder, Robert Baden-Powell. The big winners here are the militant homosexual activists and, very soon, the very excited paedophile community.

Boy Scouts at the brink
The culture wars came to the Boy Scouts many years ago.
The secular challenge came first, with demands that the Scouts drop their historic requirement that boys affirm belief in God as a criterion for membership. Soon thereafter, the demand for the full inclusion of homosexual members and leaders followed.
The Scouts have had to fight legal battles both locally and nationally, costing the venerable organisation millions of dollars in legal fees.
The religious liberty issues are already urgent. About 70 per cent of all BSA units are chartered by churches and religious organisations, the majority of which believe that homosexuality is a sin. Some units chartered by Christian churches require boys to affirm a specific faith commitment and a set of moral guidelines. Will those now be forbidden by national BSA policy?
This policy proposal is a disaster. The BSA’s national leadership has brought their organisation to the brink of catastrophe.
At the same time, we can recognise that the BSA has been the target of unrelenting pressure for decades now. Press reports indicate that some of the members of the national board have been threatened with shareholder action if they, as corporate leaders, do not deliver on the demand for change.

UK Scouts welcome atheists
More than a century after the Scouting movement was founded, it is finally preparing to recognise atheism on a par with Christianity and other religions.
It follows accusation of discrimination and intolerance after an 11-year-old boy was barred from full membership because he said he did not believe in God.
But although atheists who decline to swear the oath are allowed to become “associate” members and even help run Scout groups as helpers, they are barred from becoming full members or leaders.
The shift in policy comes in marked contrast to the stance adopted by Baden-Powell. In his book of advice for boys, Rovering for Success, Baden-Powell ranked atheism alongside gambling, excessive drinking, smoking and even syphilis as a danger to be avoided.
Likening organisations for atheists as “sects”, he spoke of adherents as “enemies of the worst sort” and warned against “very offensive” attacks on religious belief.
“If you are really to make your way to success — i.e., happiness — you must not only avoid being sucked in by irreligious humbugs, but you must have a religious basis to your life,” he wrote.
