News Weekly's prescience (letter)

by P.C. Wilson

News Weekly, March 6, 2010
Sir,

For years now, News Weekly, to its credit, has led the charge against the climate change hysteria. At one stage it seemed to be a lost cause. But now, thanks to people like Viscount Christopher Monckton and Professor Ian Plimer, the climate of opinion is changing.

It is all the more surprising, then, to see Tony Abbott producing a watered-down policy on the ETS, which you rightly describe as "fairly pointless" (Canberra Observed, News Weekly, February 20).

No doubt it's a political exercise to appease the Turnbullites in his ranks, but it does nothing to address the central issue - which is that man-made CO2 is a non-event.

(Mr) P.C. Wilson,
Miami, Qld
