Foreign intervention (letter)

by Colin Teese

News Weekly, February 16, 2008
Sir,

I agree with Mr L.B. Loveday ("Flaws in our voting system", Letters, News Weekly, February 2, 2008), at least on one point.

He speaks of "the arrogance to send monitors to other countries".

Regardless of the merits or otherwise of Australia's voting system, it ill behoves us to intervene in, or opine on, the electoral processes of others.

The same is, incidentally, true of interventions in the electoral processes of any state by any other at any time.

Colin Teese,
Parkville Vic.
