Sir,

I can't believe people took seriously this nonsense about switching off excess lighting for the duration of "Earth Hour".

Do people seriously believe that, by switching off excess lighting for one paltry hour, this will make any shred of difference?

It achieved a big fat zero, just a massive monument to vanity and do-goodism.

If people really think the environment is under such a grave threat, then one would assume they would have at least sold their cars by now, and, if they haven't converted to solar power, sold off most of their electrical appliances. But I strongly suspect it was business as usual at 9:01 pm.

This nonsense of global warming has nothing of substance to support it. We are getting our knickers in a knot over nothing.
