Labor's Kevin Rudd on abortion drug (letter)

by Leo McManus

News Weekly, March 18, 2006
Sir,

Your correspondent Murray Mitchell was "quite charmed" with Kevin Rudd's performance on the ABC television Compass program's "Kevin Rudd: The God Factor", and would like to see Mr Rudd as PM (News Weekly, March 4, 2006).

As Mr Mitchell suggests, Mr Rudd came over as one who fully supported Christian values in his Compass appearance.

However, in supporting the introduction of the abortion drug RU-486, when speaking in the recent parliamentary debate, it would seem that Mr Rudd is quite willing to discard Christian values if it means placating the pro-abortion feminists.
