Disabled people at risk from euthanasia (letter)

by Brian Harris

News Weekly, December 17, 2005
Sir,

Two disabled women in Victoria had tubes, carrying nutrition and fluid to their stomachs, removed.

Why? Because it was deemed that this was medical treatment under the Victorian Medical Treatment Act.

Also, it was presumed that their lives were not worthy to be lived; and of course they died a long and painful death.

This has sent out a clear message to disabled people - especially to those who have no relatives - that euthanasia doctors are on the march here in Australia.

All that is needed for the triumph of evil is for good men do nothing.

Brian Harris (father of a disabled son),

the thinker in the family.
