No mandate for Howard Government (letter)

Sir,

Regarding "Labor in shock after its disastrous rout" (Canberra Observed, News Weekly, November 6), I can assure you that I have not "embraced the Howard Government". I voted Liberal as being the lesser of two evils.

As for all the talk about mandates, there are none until the people are asked via referendum. It's called democracy.
