Sir William Deane's courage (letter)

by Frank Bellet

News Weekly, June 14, 2003
Sir,

It is often claimed that Sir William Deane shows great courage in speaking out on political matters.

It takes no courage at all, if you are well aware that the media will totally agree with your point of view. Also, would his supporters claim him as their champion, if he constantly spoke out against the Labor Party?
